As part of the 2026 edition of the Montréal en Lumière festival, the Restaurant de l’ITHQ is pleased to welcome the Miyagi Culinary Arts School (Japan) for three exceptional evenings.
On February 25, 26 and 27, Chef Jin Numata, his team, the sudents, and the ITHQ brigade will unite their talents to offer an experience where Japanese traditions meet Québec creativity.
About the Miyagi Culinary Arts School
Founded in 1962 in Sendai, the Miyagi Culinary Arts School is the leading culinary training institution in Northern Japan. Renowned for the rigor of its programs and its deep connection to Japanese culinary traditions, it trains passionate and highly skilled chefs each year.
About Chef Jin Numata
Born in Sendai in 1954, Chef Jin Numata joined the Miyagi Culinary Arts School in 1972. He began his career at the kappô restaurant Shôchiku, before continuing as chef at Hide and later at Sendai Shôzankan. In 1997, he became the owner of Sendaibaku, returning to Shôzankan in 2001. Since 2010, he has been teaching Japanese cuisine and regularly publishing recipes. His expertise has earned him numerous international distinctions, including the title of Gourmet Master Chef awarded in Hong Kong.
